How long should I wait to take my puppy out after her second shot?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 months and 13 days old

Aika had her second and last vaccination yesterday Sunday, until her Annual Booster is due. I am a bit confused about when I should start taking her out to the public ground. Some say I have to wait around 3 days after the vaccination so it "takes effect". So how long should I wait, longer than 3 days or just 3 days?

I suggest you wait 2 weeks before taking her out where she could come in contact with other dogs or dog eliminations, as this second vaccine is enticing the body to make specific antibodies rather than just general ones.

    He should have the second shot 4 weeks after the first one. One week after the second shot Bleu can go out in public. Can I take out my puppy out to the park after his 2nd vaccination?
I would wait a few days after the second vaccination to take her out. However I would wait until a few days after the third vaccination before going to a dog park. The body needs time to make antibodies, and that happens in the days after a vaccination.

My puppy is around 8 weeks old and got his first puppy shot last monday (7/23). How long till he gets the next booster shot? And how long till he can go out in public?
He should have the second shot 4 weeks after the first one. One week after the second shot Bleu can go out in public. How long do we wait to expose our puppy to other dogs/people after he gets his booster shots?
Vaccines take a little while to take full effect as the immune system must recognise and then produce protection against the specific illnesses vaccinated against. As the final booster is a top up to earlier injections, I usually recommend 5-7days before walking in parks/open places and preferably 10-14 days before boarding/kennelling in puppies. Annual/boosters in older adults do not require such a wait unless they had lapsed significantly

Hello, yes you can take your puppy out for walks however, you increase the likelihood that he may become sick. Because he has been vaccinated it makes it less likely, however, you should consider only allowing your puppy around other pets whom you know are fully vaccinated. We are most concerned with diseases such as Parvovirus, distemper, influenza, and kennel cough. Continue to follow the recommended vaccine schedule for your puppy and be cautious about which other dogs come in contact with your puppy. Hope this helps and best of luck.

It normally takes about 7-10 days for the vaccine to be fully effective, so I would be cautious about where you take him until then. After that, he should be well-protected against the most common puppy diseases :)

My puppies are 4 months old and just got their last puppy shots including rabies . Is it safe now to take them out for walks .? Or should I wit for vaccine to take effect ?
If they just had their vaccinations today I would wait another couple of days before starting to gradually take them out. They should have already have a strong immunity to infectious diseases with all the boosters received sofar. If you wish, you could also call your vet, just to make sure he is happy as well, as vaccination protocols and vet preferences can vary from one vet clinic to another.

I recommend to wait until after the second set of vaccines (although he still will not be fully protected). If you back yard is fenced in, inaccessible to stray dogs/wild canids, and no dog who survived parvo has been in your back yard for the past 2 years, it should be fine to take him there to play. Great questions! Vaccines should be given four weeks apart for them to be effective, so you need to wait until Skylar is 10 weeks of age before getting them again. Puppies are not fully vaccinated until they have three rounds of vaccines, so I would not be taking her for a walk after her second vaccines. You will have to wait until at least 10 days after her third series of vaccines is given at 14 weeks of age before it's safe to take her for a walk. While that does seem like a while away, until that time she will still be susceptible to contracting very deadly diseases such as parvovirus and distemper. You want to avoid that at all costs, so definitely wait until 10 days after the third series of vaccines is given before taking her for a walk. Good luck, I hope this helps!
