Why is my indoor cat scratching her ear if she has no fleas or mites?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 2 years and 11 months old | 9.3 lbs

If my indoor tabby cat foes not have fleas or mites why should she be scratching a lot. The area that she goes for is left side near the ear. She is fed Advance indoor cat food and I believe she is drinking the right amount of water each day.Thanks.

Tyga could be suffering from allergies causing her to itch, or she could have an ear infection causing her to scratch at her ear. An ear infection can be caused by bacteria or yeast in addition to ear mites, so I would recommend having her seen by a vet tomorrow. The vet can diagnose what is causing her to scratch a lot, and can treat her for it.
