Peapumpkin still wheezing bronchitis vet said ? She looks swollen . He sent her more Clavimox and Hydroxizine for her breathing ? Still not liking that drug for her . Now eating constantly non stop but still lip smacking and won't let me hold her when she's always been my lap baby so to speak . I don't know if this is because she's more sick . Does hydroxizine help breathing really ? Should I make a third visit back with her tomorrow ? I'm worried this swelling may be fluid but I don't know .

Hydroxyzine does have bronchodilating effects. You can discuss other bronchodilators such as terbutaline, theophylline or even inhaled bronchodilators. Chest xrays can be done to check for fluid. You can also consider advanced diagnostics such as a trans tracheal wash. This procedure can collect samples for culture and pathology to diagnose infection or an inflammatory process such as asthma or bronchitis. A sensitivity panel can be done to determine the best antibiotic to use if infection is diagnosed.
