Kitten has blood on paw but no wound, acting fine. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 17 days old | 3.5 lbs

My kitten was acting strangely earlier and I decided to check her over. I found a little bit of blood on her front left paw but couldn't find a cut/wound. She's walking and running completely fine and doesn't seem to be in pain, but I'm not sure what it could even be.

Poppy could have a very small wound, such as a puncture, that caused the bleeding, but it's hard to see. Given that she is walking and running completely fine, I would gently wash off the blood with warm water and some antiseptic soap. You can monitor her to be safe, and if she does have problems with walking and running, or seems in pain, then I would have her seen by a vet.
