My puppy is a picky eater with dry skin. Should I mix wet food?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 8 months and 14 days old | 50 lbs

lg mixed bred puppy 8 mos 50lbs got from shelter 10/11/16 & not a good eater dry or wet. Should I mix wet food to encourage him to eat?? also he has dry skin & read he need more proteins. Thanks for your assistance!!

You could mix some wet and dry together to see if that helps him eat more. Also, have your vet test a stool sample for parasites to make sure he doesn't have any, especially if he starts losing weight or has any vomiting or diarrhea. If his body score is normal than he is probably getting enough calories and nutrients. You could bathe him with a moisturizing dog shampoo and see if that helps his skin.
