My dog has growing lumps, vet suspects cancer. What should I do about treatment costs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Female | spayed | 10 years and 2 months old | 146 lbs

I'd like a second opinion on my dogs symptoms, she is 10.5 year old American bulldog, she has a small wart on her eyelid and cyst on her paw due to be removed on 30/1. As well as this she also has two lumps which the vet is concerned with that have gotten bigger since her last appointment 4 moths ago which she wants to biopsy at the same time. My worry is after having this done at the cost of £550 she may turn out to have cancer which I cannot afford to treat. What should I do?

Most skin cancers will heal completely if they are removed entirely, i would suggest having all the suspected cancerous tumors removed entirely rather than doing a biopsy first, this will be more cost effective.
