Is it safe to feed my puppy human food or only dry dog kibble?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 19 days old

We got a new puppy and got a vaccination one day ago and the veterinarian said that it's the best to feed all dogs only dog food (those ones that are dry like chips) is that true? Sometimes we eat something and he just comes to us and asks for food, of course we give him some. Is that okey or we should't do that? What if we're not gona feed him only dog food what is gona happen to him? thank you :)

Feeding from the table can make your puppy fat, and also there are several human foods that are toxic to dogs. Some dogs fed from the table begun to refuse to eat their regular dog food, which is nutritionally balanced for them (while table food is not). I would suggest following the advice of your vet for the best outcome for your puppy.
