Why did my dog's back legs suddenly go paralyzed, cold, and painful?

Hi There last night my dog was in such pain that he couldn't move his back legs as if it was paralyzed.He couldn't move his back legs even though he wanted to move.His front legs was fine but the sounds of pain was crucial.He started to swel up and he's legs felt ice cold and basically dead...He's skin felt hard and the pain was overwhelming we had to take him to a fet to put him down cause of the pain he was in.He wasn't responcive any more..Can you please help me its eating me up not knowing

I am so sorry that you lost Tyson so suddenly! It sounds like from your description that his heart threw a blood clot, and it prevented blood flow to his hind limbs. That would cause him to be unable to move his back legs, excruciating pain, and have cold limbs. This can happen unexpectedly, and it is often fatal. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences.
