My dog has a weeping neck wound and losing hair. What's wrong?

There is a smallish weeping wound on my dogs neck/back which just seems to be getting worse and his hair is falling out around it. What could it be? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 16 lbs
