Why does my rescue dog lunge aggressively when tired or near bed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

I have taken on a rescue dog and I absolutely love him to bits but he has a worrying trait if you go anywhere near him when he's tired or even near his bed he lunges at you really viciously I'm disabled so can't move quickly and I've had a few near misses. Apart from that he's adorable please help

This is a very concerning and dangerous behaviour. I strongly recommend you seek a visit from a trained behaviourist to fully assess and suggested management in order to prevent serious injury. Ensure his bed is outside or away from doors and hallways so he does not feel threatened by people walking past him until you can get this assessed
