I have a 2 yr old shitzu. I didn't take him to get groom for 5 months and I notice red Scabs all over his body. What can this be? I do notice that when I apply Neosporin it looks slightly better.

These red scabs on Max could be due to a bacterial infection, which may be why they look better when you applied the Neosporin. In order to completely clear up at bacterial infection of the skin, oral antibiotics are needed, which can be prescribed by your vet. Other causes of these scabs include trauma from scratching due to allergies, fleas or mites, environmental allergens, or mineral deficiency among other causes. To get a definitive diagnosis as to the cause of Max's scabs, I would have him seen by a vet tomorrow. Once the cause is diagnosed, the vet can prescribe a treatment.
