Why is my Boxer's elbow swollen with fluid but not bothering him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | neutered | 8 years and 2 months old | 49 lbs

Hi - my 8y old Boxer Murfee, has a swollen from left elbow it feels like just fluids - he's not bothered by it and is a springy, energized and spazzy as ever. However, it worries me due to his breed. He's petite; 45-50lbs and have no history of anything serious really, thankfully...

He probably has an elbow hygroma from lying on a hard surface. Encourage him to lie on a soft, padded surface. Have him examined by your vet, he/she could bandage the area to provide extra padding or fit him for a specialy made wrap from Dog Leggs. http://www.dogleggs.com/standard-length-adjustable-dogleggs/
