My dog's broken tooth caused a blister. Does it need to be cut?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Catahoula Leopard Dog | Male | neutered | 165 lbs

My dog has a top right broken canine. There's a hard blister forming where he might have chomped down and nipped some skin. Will it have to be cut open to release whatever is inside?

Yes, likely that will have to be cut open to remove the root of the canine. Given that Edge will have to be sedated to anyway to remove the root of the canine, he will not feel it when that area is cut open.
