My Yorkie has a prolapsed anus or rectum and is scooting. What to do?

My 16 year old Yorkie has a prolapsed anus (or rectum, not sure). She's scooting her behind on the carpet. What can I do until I can get her to my vet on Monday?

I would find a vet on call now or an ER vet to see Precious right away. If left out too long, she will damage the tissue by scooting on the carpet and introducing infection into the area. While you are trying to find a vet to see her now, try to keep her from scooting, and cover the area with a moist cloth to protect it. Get her into a vet ASAP
