Dog limping with a paw injury. What safe home remedies can I use?

My dog hurt his left paw toe. You can move the paw, it's just his toe is kind of separated from his other toes. He can walk on it, with a slight limp. What at home remedies can I do? And what pain medince can I give? Please help. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | 2 years and 6 months old | 62 lbs

Poor Boss! Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I would rest him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If Boss is still limping in after this time period, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. Should the limping get worse and he progresses to non-weight bearing, don't wait the 48 hours and take Boss into the vet right away.
