Is Metrogyl dosage safe for my 3-month-old kitten's diarrhea?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

my vet prescribed metrogyl(for kids) to treat my kitten's diarrhea(Half teaspoon, 2 times a day). My kitten is 3 and half months old.i wanted a second opinion about the dosage. Is the dosage fine? i am concerned because the vet has a history of giving wrong treatments.(I KNOW U GUYS CANT TALK ABOUT DOSAGE,BUT I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY PET AND I WONT HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO MY CAT) 1)correct dosage of metrogyl for kittens. 2) is metrogyl safe for young kittens?

I honestly cannot give you the dose information, even if you say you take full responsibility. It is illegal for me to do so, and I could lose my license to practice by giving you that information. I can tell you that metrogyl contains metronidazole, which is used in cats safely. If you are concerned about the dose and want a second opinion, I recommend making another appointment with a vet to discuss this in person with them.
