Can a tumor behind the eye of my miniature dachshund be removed without cutting out his eye? Could it not be temporarily dislocated?

When removing a tumor, you have to take large enough margins to make sure all of the tumor is removed, and you can't remove part of the eye if the tumor is attached to the eye. While you can temporarily remove an eye from the socket, it often doesn't stay back in, and without know the location the tumor or the type of tumor, I can't say if this is a viable option or not. You can get a second opinion from another vet if you'd like, or you could find a veterinary ophthalmologist to see Darwin.
