My pug puppy rosie plays with my other 2 dogs. Nalla (my rescue) was badly badly abused so she is pretty defencive (never ever violent though) so she growels at rosie when she tries to play with her. Nalla never ever shows her teeth, and would never do anything more than growel. But i was wondering, because rosie can be rough at times and Nalla is groweling, who should i be repremanding? I dont like the groweling and rosie shouldnt be too rough but where do i draw the line?

I would not discipline Nalla for growling at Rosie. It's her way of letting Rosie know that she does not want to play, and it is an appropriate response. When Nalla growls at Rosie, I would immediately take Rosie, and put her in another room so Nalla can have space from her. You could also play with Rosie yourself, but it's important to respect Nalla's boundaries that she does not want to play.
