My dog is losing weight, thirsty, and has a hard stomach. What should I do?

PLEASE HELP URGENT My dog is a springer spaniel and has recently been losing lots and lots of weight. She's been thirsty and we thought she had diabetes ...our vet said no it wasn't and didn't take bloods ....right now she is in the garage howling and I don't know what to do...her stomach is rock hard please please answer as quickly as possible I think something bad might happen to her soon

I would have Lacey seen by another vet as soon as possible to have bloods done to check for diabetes. Symptoms of diabetes do include weight loss and excessive drinking, and it's certainly not normal that she is losing a lot of time. Lacey needs to see another vet for a second opinion.

    She really needs to be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She could have an infection (possibly uterine since she in not spayed), liver/kidney disease, diabetes, Cushing's disease, Addison's disease, tumor, etc. Your vet should run bloodwork and take an x-ray to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. It is impossible to know the cause without doing some testing. Call your vet or go to an emergency clinic and have her examined.
