Why is my dog with pneumonia throwing up white foam on antibiotics?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered

I recently took my dog Phantom to the vet and the vet told me that he had Pheumonia. I have been giving him his anabiotic's but he keeps throwing up white foam. When he throws up it's just white foam. He still drinks and eat well. I'm assuming he is keeping his food down because there isn't any food in his throw up just the foam. Is there anything I can do to stop it? Or will he be okay I'm so worried about him

A side effect of antibiotics can be vomiting due to an upset stomach, and I would try feeding Phantom a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If this doesn't help with the vomiting, I would contact your vet first thing in the morning to let them know he's been vomiting.
