My dog ate kid's slime. Is it safe or toxic? What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 50 lbs

My dog ate a small container of slime that my daughter got a school. Not sure what brand it was because the container didn't have any packaging.

I can't find anything in my resources that suggests that this is toxic to dogs, and I've never seen a case where a dog got sick eating it. I would suspect that since this product was distributed for children, it's likely non-toxic. However, the ASPCA's poison control hotline for pets may help. They maintain an extensive database of information about all types of substances that make pets sick. Their number is (888) 426-4435.

If he just bit into it and did not actually eat it, he should be fine. It is listed as non-toxic but I cannot find the actual ingredient list. All I can say is that if he is (or starts to) act ill in any way you need to get him to your vet for an exam. Personally though, I don't think it is anything to worry about.
