My dog vomited yellow & won't eat after spay. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 6 months and 17 days old | 55 lbs

my dog just got spayed today and now she is vomiting yellow stomach lining. she won't eat anything? we are worried should we be?

The yellow you are seeing is stomach acid, not stomach lining. After spay surgery, you can see vomiting and anorexia; in fact, vomiting is a common post-anesthesia complication. Vomiting once or twice the night after surgery is normal, but if Domino has vomited more than that or the vomiting persists through the night, you need to contact your vet immediately as she will need medication to stop the vomiting.

    Vomiting and not wanting to eat can be common within 24 hours of surgery and anesthesia. If it has been longer than that, then I would have her checked tinmakensure the incision is healing correctly and there is no sign of an infection or something unrelated.
