Should I keep a howling stray cat indoors when it's freezing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs

There's a stray cat I've been feeding it will let me pet him but it's very cold and he does not want to be in laundry room and howls. Should I make him? He's in a shelter I fixed to block him in from wind on carport but it's only eight degrees. Thank you

It's so lovely of you to look after Reggie! If he's howling in the laundry room, he's likely stressed out and he might not like staying there for the night. That being said, if you don't mind the howling, he can deal with it for the night so he can stay warm! Be sure to have food, water, and a litter box in there for him, and you can make him a comfortable bed to sleep on :-)
