My puppy only eats human food. Is it safe or does he need puppy food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 6 months and 17 days old | 3.4 lbs

Can I feed only human food to my puppy? I can buy supplements for him, will that be enough or does he really need puppy food. I use blue buffalo and I have tried many different brands. He doesn't eat it. I tried putting warm water, & broth doesn't work. Now I have many bags of different dog food at home. He only want to eat human food. I only give him boil stuff no spice and oil. I also tried taking food away when he doesn't eat. He doesn't care. I don't want to starve my baby at growing stage.

Moki is playing you, as long as you will give in and provide him what he wants there is no chance he will ever eat dog food, but you need to not give up and not to give him any human food. broth is a big no no, human food is in most cases not suitable and balance to your dog. sure you can compensate with vitamins but it will make your life much harder.
