At what age is safe to take home a puppy?

Great question! It is safe to take Winston home when he is at least eight weeks of age. By then, he will be fully weaned from his mother. Some breeders keep the puppy up to 12 weeks of age, which is fine as well :-)

    Puppies should remain with their mother until the are 8 weeks old. The time newborn puppies spend with their mothers and litter-mates is extremely important. Besides receiving the proper nourishment, they learn necessary social skills for the future. Weaning too early can result in behavioral problems later.
