Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 5 months old | 70 lbs
My dog has hard, pus filled scabs underwriting fur, as large in diameter as my hand. She licks and licks the ones she can reach, the ones she cant are hard as a rock with pus underneath when picked at. You cannot see them, only feel them, unless she has licked them. They are accompanied by a horrid smell. She has no fleas. We have tried vinegar baths, medicated shampoo, nothing helps. I am trying bactrim liquid now. 200mg as she is around 70lbs. What could it be and what else can I try?

It sounds like she has a bacterial skin infection and needs to be examined and treated by a vet. I am not sure who prescribed Bactrim but you are not giving a proper dose which could cause her to get a resistant infection. Please call your vet and have her seen. She will need a proper dose of an antibiotic, a corticosteroid, and possibly other medicines to help treat her condition.
