My cat fought, now drooling and not eating. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | unneutered | 1 year old | 8 lbs

My cat had got into a brawl with an older and a heavier outsider cat 10 days back. After a series of fights for 2-3 days and multiple scratches on d body and a limp in his right forelimb he finally cooled down. He has been home bound since then n goes out only for nature's call n had normal appetite. My concern is that he has started drooling since a day but was having good appetite till yest night. Since today morn he has shown less interest in food but drank some water. Worried... Plz Help.

When a cat gets into a fight, they often get bit, and bacteria from the other cat's mouth can cause an abscess at the bite site. Those are very painful to cats, and would cause them to be nauseous and lose their appetite. I would take Shammo into a vet today for an exam.
