My cat is hurt and aggressive. How do I remove something from her leg?

My cat has a laundry bag tied around her leg and it's causing her pain. When I try to get near her to take it off she hisses and scratches what do I do

Oh poor Rue! You may need a friend to help you with her, as you don't want to get bit. When cats are in pain, they can lash out with aggression, as you are seeing with this hisses and scratching. I would have a friend come over now if there isn't anyone in your home who can help you. Have you or the friend wear thick and long gloves on top of long sleeves to protect your hands and arms. You can also use a towel or blanket to throw over Rue's head. You can scruff her with the gloves or using the towel. Make sure the towel isn't preventing her from breathing. While one of you holds her, the other can remove the laundry bag.
