Can I get affordable puppy deworming medicine from a pet store?

I can't afford to take my puppy to the vet to get deworm is there any medication I can get from the store?

You can get her an OTC deworming treatment called Panacur. Keep in mind that it doesn't kill tapeworms, which requires a prescription medication called prazaquantel. You will have to get that medication (I recommend Drontal) from a vet, but you can give Penelope Panacur.

    Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Unfortunately, there is nothing non-chemical that has been proven to help with tape worms. She will likely need to be dewormed because of the possibility that she may have tapeworms. Your veterinarian could describe a dewormer for her. Good luck!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Not sure what type of worm you saw without a picture of it. Small, whitish worms that resemble grains of white rice are tapeworms and longer worms would probably be roundworms, hookworms, or other types of worms. Tapeworms are treated with a drug called praziquantal which is available over the counter. The most common tapeworm is caused by fleas and that medicine will treat it. Follow the instructions on the product. You also want to make sure that you are using an effective flea/tick medicine recommended by your veterinarian. Round, hook, and whipworms are treated with various dewormers. You want to use something that will kill all of them. I would advise getting fenbendazole (Safeguard) and following the directions. Mix the powder with food for 3 days. If the problem still exists, contact your vet for further instruction. Good luck

What is the best de worker for puppies 12 weeks of age
Great question! I personally like Panacur. It's an excellent dewormer that you can get OTC. It's a three day course of treatment, and Bella will need another course of treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. She should then be dewormed monthly until she is six months old, and should be dewormed every three months thereafter. I hope this helps!

Asya has what looks like Tapeworms and if she's got them them so does Chance. What do I need to do/ what meds can I buy to get rid of them? Neither take pills well and I'm thinking of drops for their water?
Unfortunately this will not cure the tapeworms. They need praziquatel, which is a prescription medication. You can get it in the form of Drontal from the vet. I would take them both into the vet, and the vet can give them the pill so you don't have to worry about it. You will also need to treat them both for fleas, as fleas are intermediate hosts of tapeworms. Best of luck.

I just found worms in my dogs stool and I don't have money to go to the vet .... are there over the counter meds
Typically, the only type of worms that can be seen in a dog's feces are roundworms and tapeworms. Medications that kill tapeworms are available only from the vet, and do require a visit. While there are OTC deworming treatments, they don't kill tapeworms, so you could be treating Chato but not killing the worms in his system. I would recommend taking him into the vet for an exam. He should get Drontal, which kills the four types of worms that infect dogs: Tapeworms, roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Products that contain Pyrantel (Drontal) or Fenbendazole (Panacur) are broad spectrum deworming agents you may find over the counter at your local pet store. However, it is best if you run a fecal test with Axel's veterinarian first to determine what parasite he is infected with so the right deworming agent or combination of deworming medications can be administered. Hi Patsy. You can have your veterinarian worm the puppy if she is due to be vaccinated soon. Or you can get an over the counter puppy wormer from a petshop. There are many brands that work. Just make sure you follow the instructions, make sure the puppy is old enough for the particular wormer (it will give an age on the box) and that you give the correct dose (as prescribed on the box). If you are seeing worms in your puppy's poo then you should worm it now and again in 2-3 weeks.

Yes you can buy dewormer over the counter at any pet store or feed store. You will want to get one that is labeled for tapeworms also which will include praziquantel as an ingredient. Tapeworms are the most common at his age and look like small grains of rice. They get these from eating a flea, so you may need to look for flea control

I noticed worms in my puppy’s stool last night and this morning. He turned 4 months today. He’s a miniature goldendoodle. Which over the counter dewormer can I get that will cure it? I’m desperate and completely freaked out. Please help!
Those look like tapeworms, which requires praziquantel to treat. That is a prescription medication, so you will need to take Kiko into the vet to get Drontal (which contains praziquantel) to treat it.

I'm wondering if you mean Zo has worms. The best thing to buy him is a deworming treatment called Panacur. It kills roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms. You can get it at your vet's office. He will need a second deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. The first treatment kills the adults present while the second one kills the ones that had not yet hatched from eggs at the time of the first treatment. He should then be deworming monthly until six months of age, and then every three months thereafter. I hope this helps!
