My dog feels cold. Is 99.1 underarm temp too low? Do I add a degree?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 7 years and 11 months old | 70 lbs

i have a question my dogs is cold to the touch so i took his temp under arm because he won't let me get near his rectum and it was 99.1 but don't you add a degree i was wondering if that is to low and if i should be concerned he is a 8 1/2yr old American Pit Bull Terrier

99 degrees Fahrenheit is still considered normal for a dog. If you add a degree or two because the temperature was taken under the arm then that still puts Reggie in a normal temperature range. If Reggie is behaving normally you probably have no cause for concern especially with a normal temperature. However, if you are worried you could always bring him to your veterinarian to have them help take a rectal temperature. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
