My dog pees indoors. How to get him to potty outside in snow?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | neutered | 1 month and 14 days old

Jasper has no problems peeing indoors (lol) but whenever I catch him in the aflct and bring him outside, he gets too distracted by all the snow and doesn't do it. Any suggestions?

Hi there and thank you for using PetCoach! Sounds like he is having quite fun in the snow! You can try using pee pads in the house or using a product called Fresh Patch ( www.freshpatch.com ). More frequent walks outside may also help stop this inappropriate urination and then rewarding him when he does urinate outside every time will help reinforce him going outside. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
