Could vet steroids cause death in an old dog with vomiting/diarrhea?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 8 years and 7 months old | 77.1 lbs

Hi im after a opinion my dog tilly who was nearly 9 died on tuesday after being ill for over a week with vomiting and diaharea she had not eat for a few days and was not her self so we took her to the vets on monday and the vet gave her 3 injections one antibiotics one anti sickness and one steroids after cuming home she looked worse and the next mornong couldent move so we took her back and she died as we arrived and im after the cause it killing me as i think it could of been the steroids ??

I am sorry to hear of your loss of Tilly. I'm sure this has been hard on you. In my opinion, it sounds as though there was some systemic disease process going on that lead to her untimely passing. I do not think the steroids had anything to do with this. It is possible she had a viral infection as well or something she ate that lead to her passing. You could always request to have an autopsy performed on her to help determine what the cause could have been. Again, I am sorry to hear that Tilly is no longer with you.
