Why is my old cat's belly big, drinking lots, and breathing funny?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 years and 1 month old | 7 lbs

Hi! My cat belly is getting big, cat drinks lots of water and sometime breathes very "funny", which is not funny at to me. What is it? I have female cat around 13 years old! THank you!

Hi there, sorry to hear this about Bussia! I would definitely get her checked out by a vet asap as I am concerned that their could be something serious going on. For example if she has a heart condition this could effect her breathing and cause fluid accumulation in her belly. Unfortunately she could also have tumours effecting her lungs and belly. It could also be something really simple such as a chest infection and maybe another condition going on concurrently. I'm afraid that I can't give you a more specific diagnosis without examining her as there are so many possibilities. I would stress to you that it is really important to have her examined soon.
