My budgie is breathing fast and squeaking. Should I see a vet?

Good morning I have female budgie with quite rapid respiration n squeak.no discharge.S/B vet ?Xray /nebulizer Rx diagnosis unsure.should i observe then decide or act now please

I would recommend taking your bird to the vet as soon as you are able. Respiratory disease can be very serious, especially in small birds. If you have the capability to nebulize at home it could be helpful until you can get her seen. You veterinarian may recommend performing X-rays to help determine what is going on. I hope this helps.     Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is not unusual for birds to be nervous and breathing fast initially as they get used to their new environment. This should subside shortly. If this does not improve, consider having her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Otherwise, she is likely going to be fine. Best of luck!
