Found a sick pigeon. How to help it without risking my pets?

We found a pigeon at our yard yesterday. It couldn’t fly and move properly, we assumed it was injured. Then we kept it in our dog old cage to prevent getting hurt by our dogs. But until now we haven’t checked where is the injuries. My mom said maybe it’s not injured but sick. I’m worried if it is bird flu and might affect us and our dogs, but we can’t just let it go because of its situation now. What should we do?

IT is a very young bird who probably doesn't know how to fly yet, he might be injured or sick as well but this is very difficult to know without running some lab tests. ideally you should look for a nest in one of the trees in your yard or maybe in some other high place, putting him back there if you find it might be his best chance of survival.
