My puppy wheezes or clears throat but acts normal. See a vet?

Question

My puppy sounds like she’s wheezing or clearing out something in her throat but when she’s not trying to clear it out, she’s breathing and playing normally. Should I bring her in? It’s been about 12 hours since this started happening and it’s making me really nervous. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 13 days old | 3.4 lbs

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, I would recommend you take Luna into see her veterinarian soon. The symptoms she is experiencing such as trying to clear her throat, may actually be a cough. Coughing and wheezing can be indicative of an upper respiratory infection. She may need chest x-rays to confirm an upper respiratory infection and may be placed on antibiotics. I hope this helps and I wish you and Luna the best!
