Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There has been no definitive evidence to suggest the distemper vaccine causes panosteitis. Panosteitis first became recognized around the same time the distemper virus vaccine became available on the market. Since the distemper virus can be isolated from bone, there was some suspicion of correlation between receiving the distemper virus vaccine and the development of panosteitis. Right now, there is simply not enough research to support a causation. I hope this helps!
