My puppy's eye wound has white bumps. Is it serious or normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 12 days old

My puppy got a wound literally in the corner of his right eye and it seems to be healing, but there are white bumps on his wound now. I went to the vet already(before the white bumps came in) and the doctor said just to keep an eye on it. Should I be concerned?

Thank you for including the picture, it is really helpful. The little bumps and the look of the lesion is starting to be suspicious of a mite called demodex mite. It is very common in puppies, and is not usually itchy (but it can be). A skin scrape should be done to look for the mites. Of Course other possibilities include skin infection or ringworm. I would encourage you to have a follow up appointment with your veterinarian soon. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
