Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 12 years and 11 months old | 10.3 lbs
Since my DMS, was diagnosed with triaditis, she was put on prednisaline And is her old self.; plays,,is affectionate, talks, eats well,( had bad anorexia). However her hair since being shaved for MRI, has not grown back in 2 months and she DOES NOT SHED AT ALL Prior, I “Furninated” her every week, like clockwork she produced a tennis-ball sized lump of hair. She is almost 14. Should I be concerned?

Prednisone can affect metabolism which can affect a number of things including normal hair turn over. You didn't mention if Sophia is still on Prednsione, but it can take a number of months for an animal that was on Prednisone to start to regrow hair normally. So, I would suspect that both the lack of hair growth and lack of shedding is due to the Predisone use. However, if you are noticing further areas of hair loss (other than where she was shaved), I would certainly recommend having your veterinarian examine her. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
