Hi. Is it safe to give Sildenafil and pepcid at the same time? Thank you!

Hello. There are no reported problems administering these 2 medications together, although there is a warning about administering Sildenafil with a similar medication cimetidine ( Pepcid is famotidine ). So just to be sure, I would separate these 2 medications by at least 30 minutes, ideally would be 1-2 hours. Since famotidine can alter the ph of the gastric mucosa & thus potentially affect the absorption of other medications, I would give the sildenafil first. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
