Is it safe to keep male and pregnant female hamsters in one cage?

I am planning to get a female hamster. Would it be ok to keep the male and the pregnant female in the same cage? Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Male | 1017 years and 1 month old | 5 lbs

Male hamsters will often kill and / or consume the young after the female delivers. Also, hamsters will mate and become pregnant again within days of delivery.
