Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. This is a very common behavior in puppies. Leash correction will help correct the behavior. Keep a leash on him and when he attempts to bolt out the door, give the leash a firm tug and tell him a command such as "sit". Have many treats handy and give him a few treats when he listens and sits. If training is not going as planned, you can use an electric collar and whenever he goes near the door, you can apply a low voltage shock to deter the behavior. I hope this helps!
