Why did my cat's heart failure progress so fast? Was it my fault?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 years and 10 months old | 13 lbs

Yesterday I list my 11year old cat Raven to congestive heart failure with cardiomyopathy. How did it happen so fast? What did I do wrong?

You didn't do anything wrong and although the symptoms might not have been there, it doesn't mean the condition wasn't developing slowly without you being able to notice it. unfortunately this is bad news, but with the right treatment you could buy her a good quality of life for the next 1-2 years.
