Updated On September 23rd, 2025

How to tell if my dogs until the injury is bothering him more so than usual? I don’t want has a luck saving patella injury on his rear left knee, for quite a while now it is not been bothering him, but as of late he seems to not want to play as often, and he does not like to have that where your leg extended. Poor Charlie! If he does not want to play as often and does not like to have his leg extended, then those are signs that his injury is bothering him more than usual. Dogs can be stoic about pain, and just because he isn't crying out in pain does not mean he isn't in pain. Those behaviors you described indicate he is in pain. I would take him back into the vet on Monday, he may need surgery to fix the problem in his knee. Good luck, I hope this helps!
