Petco rabies shot: Why didn't I get a certificate, only a tag?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | 7 months and 15 days old | 5 lbs

My pet got a rabies shot yesterday at petco I was expecting a rabies certificate am I supposed to have one i was only given a tag for the collar.

Any rabies vaccination should also come with a Rabies certificate. This is usually just printed on regular paper, so you may want to double check that it isn’t attached to your receipt. However, if you did not receive one then I would call the location and ask to speak with the manager associated with the vaccine clinic. Hopefully a reprint /copy can be made.     Yes you should ideally have a rabies certificate. Please call back Petco and ask a printed copy of the certificate (for sure they will have it). Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
