Is it safe to use clove scent for room odors near my rabbit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed

If I boiled some cloves and then put the boiling cloves/water in my room (where my rabbit's cage is) to absorb bad smell, will the smell of cloves affect the rabbits? Even knowing that the cloves will not be near the rabbit or her cage (1 to 3 meters away)

As long as the fragrance is not too overpowering it should be safe for your rabbit. Be sure there is some ventilation, like an open window or door, and make sure there is no way the rabbit can access the cloves. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck!
