My 5-month-old kitten ate toy fur. Should I wait or see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My 5 month old kitten ate the tail off of this toy. Fake fur, about 1 1/2 inches long and maybe 1/4-1/2 inch wide. Should I wait to see if she’ll pass it? It just happened maybe 20 minutes ago so no behavioral changes. The material is on another toy I have (in a much larger strip that she can’t eat) and when i held it under the water it didnt seem to expand. I worry it just isn’t smooth enough to get through.

This could go either way unfortunately, as it happened only 20 minutes ago i would recommend taking her to the vet right now in order to get an injection to induce vomiting, it will be less risky to have it come out that way.
