Recently neutered dog's incision bled after running. Is it okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 65 lbs

My male husky was neutered this morning and has been resting today. When I went to take the other two dogs out after dinner he snuck out with them and was running around. When he came back in and laid down, I noticed a little bleeding coming from his incision area. Should I be worried if it was just a little bit? Is there anything I can put on it to help?

Check the incision whether a stitch came out or whether it opened. If not, then all is well . You need to keep your dog from licking the incision. Licking prevents the incision from healing. If the incision keeps bleeding or if the incision looks open, you need to go back to your vet to have it closed again.
