Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 22 days old | 13 lbs
a few days ago i planned to take my year old unfixed cat, link, who'd been uncharacteristically lethargic to the vet but he'd turned around so i assumed he'd was better. his lethargy, sluggish movements, and meow as if he's possibly in pain when picked up are back. his body seems fine, he's eating, and there's nothing strange about his litter box contents. i don't like that he's going back and forth. i'm taking him to the vet for sure. what might it be, depression? i'm worried about him

Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell what might be going on with Link, but we normally do not see depression come and go like that. We can see cats that will get better then get worse again with some types of infections. Your vet will likely do an exam, then may need to do some blood work or additional testing to figure out what is going on with Link and how to treat him. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Link feels better soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
