Is my vaccinated puppy at risk of parvo after touching a parvo item?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 4.4 lbs

Hi. How many shots does a puppy need to be considered as having completed primary vaccination series? My 6mos old Maltese has 4 shots already of the 5in1 vaccine and has recently sniffed an item (lightning charging cable) that was exposed a week ago to a puppy who died of parvo (used that cable to charge my phone while I was watching over the parvo infected puppy confined in the vet clinic). Is my Maltese at risk? Thank you.

Your puppy should be ok. She has had all of her puppy vaccines and therefore should be protected from getting parvo. However, if you notice any of these symptoms: lack of appetite, lethargy, vomiting, or diarrhea take her to see a veterinarian ASAP so that they can make sure she does not have parvo. Hope this has helped. Thank you for using pet coach.
